<image:title>Magazine - Unexpected voices: How different perspectives can create more impactful communications - I’ve been reading with excitement about the upcoming Celebrity Traitors, and it got me thinking – what made the original so compelling was that it wasn’t celebrities. It was ordinary people. Unfamiliar faces with unpredictable stories. It was the unexpected voice. The quiet ones. The unassuming ones. The ones you could imagine sitting next to at work.</image:title>
<image:caption>In healthcare communications we often rely on senior leaders for thought leadership. Whilst their perspective is essential, is it always the most engaging?</image:caption>

<image:title>Magazine - Creativity in healthcare: Think like a child before acting like an adult - My son is a creative genius. I know that because NASA told me so. Well, sort of. He’s four years old and a study by NASA in the late 1960s, which aimed to understand the nature of creative genius so they could unlock the secret to hiring innovative minds, discovered that 98% of 3-5 year olds are creative geniuses.¹</image:title>
<image:caption>This is in contrast to a woeful 2% of adults.¹ The study’s author, George Land, identified two forms of thinking; divergent, linked to imagination, original ideas and new possibilities, and convergent, associated with evaluation and focus, often leading to tried and tested solutions to problems.¹ With his still developing brain, my son cannot contain his divergent thinking. It spills out of him when he’s trying to create a lego ‘rocket blaster space boat’, or when he thinks the best way to build a plane is to carve it out of the moon because then it “will always float in the sky.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Magazine - Women’s health is not just ‘bikini medicine’ - The UK has the largest gender health gap in the G20 group of economies, and the 12th largest globally.¹ While women on average live longer than men, they spend a significantly greater proportion of their lives in ill health and disability.²</image:title>
<image:caption>However, less is known about conditions that only affect women. Women make up 51% of the population, yet they are seemingly an afterthought in healthcare. Is this due to the lack of women’s involvement in medical studies historically?³ Is it a fault of ‘bikini medicine’?</image:caption>

<image:title>Magazine - Creating corporate communications fit for today - In the famous words of Jerry Maguire, "we live in a cynical world, a cynical world, and we work in a business of toughcompetitors". Although he was talking about the cut throat business of being a sports agent, this sentiment rings true for today's pharma industry too. After an uplift in positive public opinion following the pandemic, scepticism is creeping back in as the default attitude towards companies from both external and internal stakeholders.</image:title>

<image:title>Magazine - Mind the gap: confronting gender inequality in the healthcare sector</image:title>
<image:caption>From menopause to miscarriage, periods to pregnancy, there is no doubt that women have been neglected when it comes to their health. In our society, the conversation about health all too often centers around well-known, extensively researched and frequently discussed medical issues. However, there are a myriad of female-specific conditions that often remain underrepresented in the literature and often ignored.</image:caption>

<image:title>Magazine - Will the medical community flee Twitter/X?</image:title>
<image:caption>With the rebranding of Twitter to X, and the emergence of Meta’s “Threads”, the jury’s out as to where the online health conversation will take itself in 2024. When I hold up my looking glass, I believe HCPs will continue using X as long as the platform is reliable, but with Meta releasing a web version of “Threads”, experts might decide to make the switch. At Anthem, we’re monitoring the situation very closely and believe more platforms will provide more opportunities for creative engagement. For any advice, don’t hesitate to get in touch.</image:caption>
